    San Diego Bay Hoopin

Bob (aka Lowtide), Reny and myself hooped the big bay Tuesday night and ended up with 14 legal lobster (stoped counting the shorts) , a mess of crabs and snails.
It's been our best trip so far. Pics are the five that I keep. Bob (keep 4), Reny (keep 5) and they split the crabs and snails.

Need a better shot of the Boat!
Lo the angler. He riseth in the morning and upsetteth the whole household. Mighty are his preparations. He goeth forth with great hope in his heart and when the day is far spent, he returneth, smelling of strong drink, and the truth is not in him.

Thanks again Royboy! 'bout time we had a good score after paying our dues these past couple of years. The crawl was slower than the week's reports showed with the tide swing only being ~2ft. We didn't stay for the second crawl and figured we had enough bugs in the boat and we threw back a bunch that were just at limit because we didn't want to take the chance of mis-sizing the bugs. It was not crowded where we were and the boats seemed to be spread out in shallow to deep water but there was a lot of Navy gun boats around. The surface was flat and the wind died down making it a pleasant night of buggin'. Bait type didn't matter as the tubes were filled with salmon, dines and various fish carcasses. Roy's boat is perfectly set-up for hooping and the red riser makes it easier on our old bods when pulling over 50 nets for the night. Also the more we go the better our process...limits to come soon!
